The Czech architecture faces danger / Ceske architekture hrozi nebezpeci

I found this interesting article about some very unfortunate (some may call it ‘modern’) architectural styles which took hold of some buildings built in the post-communist era. The person interviewed in the article is architect Jan Kruml who has been documenting the transformation or Czech villages for many years. He wants to make people realize how important it is to preserve the cultural heritage of our ancestors and not destroy it with a bunch of sore thumbs.

So let’s review this – what was created when:

Dela to proto, aby si lide uvedomily dulezitost zachovani tradicni ceske architektury, kterou je potrebi chranit a ne ji nicit nejakymi neohrabanymi kycemi.

Tak si to pojdme zrekapitulovat:

Yuck!!! The first and third ones look like something that a starving artist created. The second one looks like a mexican restaurant. This post-communism style is gonna take away the beauty of Česko. So sad 🙁

Haha! My husband actually likes the third one. I don’t know why, that house just makes me see-sick just by looking at it.

The Czech has bigger problem and this is only one of results of this huge problem. The problem has name morality. Huge corruption. During last 20 years was everything stolen and destroyed. All kind of industry. Agriculture and food industry. Textile industry. Technical industry. Now we can say that Czech Republic is industry desert. The people desperately looking for job and can tot find. What we want find on the desert? So nice, beautiful country full of very clever people is 40 years destroyed by communist and next 20 years since 1989 by new communists. Velvet revolution was one big fraud. Why no body wants to see that? And building monsters are only one of the result of that. Please wake up and lets try to find way how to help our nice country.

I think that the Panelak style already took a lot of beauty away. The pendulum swings the other way and people starving for some variety and expression are thinking the ??? style is the answer. This too will pass…
As long as we have our ‘chalupy’ etc :).

Romano, the problem is that even the ‘chalupy’ are in danger :((
