I wish I could pack up and go visit right now.

  • Romana Osborne October 6, 2011, 9:05 am

Me too. Thanks for posting. The pictues of Kampa tug at my heart. My grandmother lives in Brevnov.

I was on a mini vacation this morning. Thank You.

Gorgeous. I miss Czech fall…here in Texas there are no masses of colorful leaves…they are green and then all of the sudden they are all gone from the trees. At least it seems like it. At least I have a tree in front of my house that turns all yellow and red…

With exception of pictures of Prague, the pictures remind me New Jersey….

  • Tanja October 6, 2011, 2:02 pm

Vlastimil, you are the lucky one because NJ has probably the most similar weather when compared to the Czech Republic, right?

Here in S. California we have a mild Fall, the leaves turn colors and it starts to rain a lot (which in turn creates beautiful sunsets!) and it gets to be a bit cooler; people start to wear knitted hats and scarfs and Uggs and we all pretend like we live in the mountains – it’s hillarious! But I really love the Fall here.

What I miss though, is the smell of the woods right after the rain and when the fallen leaves start to decay….The one picture that really tugs at my heart is the one with the imprinted pathway (2nd one from the top). It SO reminds me of the walks we used to take when I was little!

Ahoj, moc krasny fotky. Dekujeme. No, tak to ja samozrejme taky. Ahoj Daniela

    Ahoj Danielo!

No, ta posledni vypada fakt dost ‘spooky’, vid?

Tanja, the second picture from the top reminds me my driveway πŸ˜‰ But I cannot walk there, because bears are lurking behind trees…

To muzes tam litat kazdy vikend πŸ˜‰

Czech climate – the four seasons – is actually closer to New England then to states like NJ, further south the Atlantic coast. Great pictures! Though the Indian Summer in Northeast adds some beautiful sunshine to the sight of the foliage…
    Thanks, Tanja!

Czech in the fall is always so gorgeous. Your pictures really bring it all back. Most of the loveliness will be completely gone when we return at the end of November, so it’s great to see this little piece of the beauty. Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

  • Tanja October 7, 2011, 10:12 pm

Oh no! The end of November! That’s like the most depressing time. Hopefully you will get some snow soon afterward so the greyness disappears under the white fluff…

  • Marika October 8, 2011, 8:24 pm

Tady blbnou i bez caje.

  • Vladimir Kratky October 10, 2011, 4:52 pm

I am new to this website/blog, but already consider it one of my favourites to visit. Just returned from a trip to CR a few weeks ago and these pictures bring me back one more time. Thanks!

  • Tanja October 11, 2011, 11:00 am

We have got another Vladimir here, welcome! Hope you had a nice trip and that you took a lot of nice pictures yourself πŸ™‚

  • Eva Z. October 12, 2011, 2:54 pm

Tani, ja si vsimla, ze v Kalifornii nosi Uggs snad i v lete, ne? A k sortkam! :)))

  • Tanja October 12, 2011, 9:41 pm

No to asi poti, navic ty Uggs jsou silene neforemne a neprijdou mi ani nijak pohodlne.

Ahoj holky, I am reading you discussion on Uggs and if I may: I am an avid lover of Uggs. They were actually ctreated by a surfer to keep his feet warm and dry on the beach. They were not created for winter necessarily, so it is quite right that they should be worn in warm weather as well as cool. They wick away moisture and cool in summer and warm in winter. And you are right they are ugly–I find their name representative–but I think they are the most comfy things! I wear them half a size smaller so they are snug and without socks. The lining is magnificent. But I don’t buy knock offs, because they are not the same. My two cents:).

  • Tanja October 13, 2011, 2:00 pm

Romano, thanks for the different outlook on things! Now I know how they really feel since I have never tried them on. Maybe I should give them a try! But then I don’t surf….
By the way, do you think their name really came from the word ‘ugly’? That would be actually pretty funny! I would gain a new respect for them πŸ˜‰
