Happy Easter! / Vesele Velikonoce!

I am so excited because I have re-learned how to make traditional Czech Easter eggs this year! It took forever and looks like it was made by a 5-year-old but that does not matter, I am still excited.

The black-and-white picture is an image of my dad during Easter when he was little. And guess what he is holding in his hand? You guessed right – pomlazka ;).

Enjoy this wonderful holiday!

CZ: Vesele Velikonoce! ;).

If you liked this post buy me a coffee! (Suggested:$3 a latte $8 for a pound) Thanks!

I learned how to make Pomlazka this year. I made one for both of my guys and it looks great. It’s just weird knowing that they won’t be able to use it anywhere besides our house, we don’t want anybody to sue us! :o)

I think it is fantastic that there is an interest in keeping up the older traditions. Traditions are what make families and communities stronger.
Tanya please take a picture of your decorated eggs.

Sono, would you be so kind and gave us a ‘recipe’? What would did you use and so forth? That would be awesome!!!
Evo, I did take the picture but since it was with my old phone it came out fuzzy and unfocused. I will try again and add that in. Next year I will make a whole tutorial, ok? Did you try to make kraslice?

PS: Sono, I know what you mean with that suing, maybe your boys could take it to school and tell everyone that it’s a Czech ethnic fly swapper and when your kids do their job and people will be giving them weird, horrified looks, they should just say to those female ‘victims’ that they had flies on their behinds ;).

Here is a link to a good kolace’ recipe that is like my grandmother’s. If you use unbleached European style pastry flour, it is best.

You can make wooden Easter eggs and paint them to put candy in for Easter instead of plastic eggs like matroyshka (Russian nesting dolls).

What a wonderful photo to have of your father as a little boy! I can’t wait for the tutorial next year.
