Two new museums open in the Czech Republic / Otevrela se dve nova muzea

I found an information on 2 very different museums that just opened in the Czech Republic.

THE FIRST ONE is the open-air folk museum in Straznice. Straznice is a small town in South Moravia, also called Slovacko because it is so close to Slovakia. The museum features local village architecture and shows the life in the past centuries. The local land has been altered to look like the typical countryside in the early 17th century, where the main building comes from 1612.

The houses in this museum are built from timber and the holes between the beams are plugged with moss and mud. Yet since they are covered with white plaster, they look like brick houses. The chimneys are also very unusual since they end blow the roof.

THE SECOND ONE is the museum of Ctyrlistek (Four-leaf clover) in Doksy. Ctyrlistek is children’s comics book which entertained just about every Czech/Slovak kid since 1969. It was created by Jaroslav Nemecek and the four main characters are Myspulin (a cat scientist), Bobik (a pig, the tough guy), Fifinka (a pretty female dog) and Pinda (rabbit).

The museum was built in the reconstructed rooms of the Doksy city library. The visitors will be able to find out how the comics came about, examine Mispulin’s inventions from up close or visit Fifinka’s kitchen. Why is the museum located in Doksy, you may ask? Because that’s where Nemecek spent most of his life (he has a cottage by the nearby Machovo lake).

CZ: Ceska Republika se stala domovem dvou novych muzei! Jedno muzeum se nachazi ve Straznici na jizni Morave, kde se navstevnici mohou na vlastni oci presvedcit, jak vypadal zivot na Slovacku na zacatku 17. stoleti (vice si prectete zde).

Druhe muzeum se tyka veleslavneho komiksoveho casopisu Ctyrlistek. Ani ho tu nebudu predstavovat, protoze neni mozne, aby ho nekdo neznal. Muzeum Ctyrlistku se nachazi v Doksich u Machova Jezera, kde se nachazi chata Jaroslava Nemecka (tvurce Ctyrlistku). Vice is prectete zde.
