The early-warning radar system is just steps away from being built in the Czech Republic. As the Czech prime minister, Mirek Topolanek, said yesterday to the press in Washington, only a few minor details needed to be solved before the construction can begin. Most of these minor issues are connected with the environmental protection. Here are some facts about the upcoming building project:
- CR would be hosting only the radar which detects any harmful missiles
- the 10 missile interceptors will be located in Poland
- it is to fend off threats from possible hostile nations such as Korea and Iran
The Russian president Putin is freaking out about this decision since he is terrified that the missiles will end up being pointed at him (that makes you wonder about his “clean” conscience) – that is why he wanted the radar/missile system to be located on his territory (how smart…).
What will the Czechs get in turn of hosting this defense system? Czech citizens will be able to travel to the US without visas, perhaps as early as September.
- sestrelovaci rakety budou umisteny v Polsku
