In her article “The secrets of the Czech complexion” Rosie Johnson expresses her perplexion over the beauty of Czech girls’ skin during the winter times and calls them the “Sun-kissed goddesses”. I don’t mean to brag or anything but being Czech myself, I have to say I have gotten some positive comments on my skin complexion as well. Needless to say, that I have just recently discovered that there is actually a specific kind of soap for your face! I is kind of embarrassing that up till recently I have just been using water (or a regular bar of soap) to wash my face down. But my friend decided to educate me one day and made me buy one of those fancy face soaps (for about $20,000 a bottle) and the result??? It smells good but it burns my eyes and my skin looks EXACTLY the same! So you know what am I going to do after I am finished with that bottle….save my $$$ and go back to my bar of soap!
Going back one generation, my mother LOVES to tan. Ever since I was little I can remember her putting only the sun-attracting applications on: lard and butter during the tougher times; once the Wall fell down and various sun-tanning products became widely available, she stopped with her barbaric lard-manners and now she is not using anything when she tans. As you can tell, the depletion of the Ozone layer doesn’t bother her a bit and – I have to say – her skin looks great.

Ja jsem svuj cely zivot pouzivala bud vodu anebo normalni klasicke mydlo az me jednoho dne kamardka donutila, abych si jednu z techto pletovych mydel zakoupila. No co vam mam povidat, lahvicka stala asi $20 000 a vysledek? Voni to hezky, ale pali me z toho oci a ma plet vypada uplne stejne! To znamena, ze po tomoto vyzkumnem experimentu se opet vratim zpatky k me kostce mydla a usetrim!
Kdyz se podivam na minulou generaci, respektivne moji mamu, tam je to jeste horsi. Mamka se hrozne rada opaluje. Velmi dobre si z detstvi pamatuju, jak si na sebe natirala ruzne druhy tuku, aby slunecni paprsky co nejvice prilakala (nejaka Ozonova dira ji vubec nevzrusovala). Po padu komunismu se v obchodech zacaly objevovat tisice ruznych kremu na opalovani a mama to vyresila tak, ze ted uz nepouziva vubec nic. A vite co? Jeji plet vypada stale vyborne!

I did not know that it was DOG lard!! Well, I learned something new….although, my mom did hate the next-door neighbor’s dog so she may have just secretly cooked it and make the “tanning cream” out of it….I am not sure 😉
Yes…you are right…my mother uses only lard for her face..and result? She looks like thirty year old women:-)..and is almost seventy:-)…but I hate the lard on my cheeks, when I kiss her.
I know how that feels…Why don’t you just blow her a kiss? That way you won’t have to get all greasy and stuff.

Ja mam vyborne mydlo na oblicej od firmy Lush. Jmenuje se to Cole Face a ma vynikajici cistici ucinky. Tady v Seattlu a okoli maji dva obchody, ale jinak jsou i online.
