The Czech Republic and its romance with beer../ Cechy a jejich romance s pivem

beer image google.comThe new “Good beer guide: Prague and the Czech Republic” uncovers also the highly unknown beer kinds such as the author’s favorite, the – for now – nameless beer from the remote Czech village Hukvaldy ( found in the even more remote pub called “Na zastavce”). The author of this book is an American writer Evan Rail who in 2006 traveled through all kinds of Czech pubs and breweries to research the beauty and uniqueness of Czech beer. When the Radio Praha reporter asked him during his interview if he himself thought that Czech beer was indeed that awesome as they say, Evan replied: “I would have to say Czech beer is phenomenal. I was not a partisan before I moved here; I did not know that much about Czech beer. I knew a little bit about beer in a global context. But having lived here for a long time and having researched all these beers, and having recently done a lot of research in Germany, I can tell you that Czech beer standards are the best in the world. There’s simply nothing to compare, in terms of lagers.”This professional beer-drinker also thinks that the micro-brewers produced in small Czech towns are far more superior to the large commercial brewers such as Staropramen or Gambrinus, both produced by Pilsner Urquell. CZ: Nova kniha “Good beer guide:Prague and the Czech Republic” (“Vyborny pivni pruvodce Prahou a Ceskou Republikou) odhaluje take dosti nezname pivni zdroje jako je autoruv oblibeny pivovar/hospoda ve vesnicce Hukvaldy. Hospoda se jmenuje “Na zastavce”, ale pivo pry jeste nema jmeno. Tvurcem tohoto pruvodce je americky spisovatel Evan Rail, ktery v minulem roce procestoval kdejakou hospodu a to nejen v Praze, ale v cele Ceske republice a to aby objevil zkryte krasy ceskeho piva. Kdyz se ho reporter Radia Praha behem jejich rozhovoru zeptal, jestli Evan opravdu souhlasi s Cechy, ze ceske pivo nezna hranice, odpovedel:” Ja musim uznat, ze Ceske pivo je fenomenalni. Nez jsem se do Cech odstehoval, tak jsem si to nemyslel; moc jsem toho o ceskem pivu tehdy nevedel. O pivu jsem mel jenom trochu vseobecnych znalosti. Ale od te doby co tu v Cechach ziji a kostuji vselijake pivni zdroje pro muj vyzkum – a to nejen v Cechach, ale take v Nemecku – muzu vam se spolehnutim rici, ze ceske pivo ma nejlepsi standarty v Evrope. Nic se proste nemuze vyrovnat (ceskym) lagrum.” Tento profesionalni pivar je take toho nazoru, ze “rodinne” pivovary ukryte v malych ceskych mesteckach maji casto lepsi pivo nez v porovnani s pivnimi obry jako je Staropramen nebo Gambrinus.
