Hello everybody!
Semester at my school is finally finished, which means I have some spare time to bake!!!! Besides, the whole world is bombarding me with questions about Czech Christmas cookies, so it is time to get to work (I think I should open a hot line, actually).
What is new? We are getting ready for a Czech-American Christmas, listening to – and singing – Czech and American Christmas carols, constantly pulling our white cat out of the chimney (do we have Santa stuck in there??), and drinking eggnog….normal stuff.
The Saint Nicholas party at our Czech school turned out great, the devil was very talented this year: made the kids cry and the adults laugh ;). If you are interested how the kids won him, and the rest of the crew (the angel and St. Nicholas over) over, watch the linked video below.
Ahoj vsichni!

Thank you for your cookie recipe posts! My husband is Czech. He just came home from work and admitted he was feeling homesick for things he had during the holidays. Now, mind you, it’s Christmas Eve at 3pm so I have to scramble to make sure I have all the ingredients before the stores close– but he is going to have a batch of Vanilkove rohlicky if it kills me. Merry Christmas!
