The older I get the more crazy about traditions I get. And when I found this guy I had to order not one item but two. I am talking about these cute miniature houses that tell you wether it is going to rain or shine. I don’t know how they do it (it must be magic :)) but they work! If the girl is out of the house then it is going to be a nice weather. If the boy is out then it’s supposed to rain. I grew up with them and I bet you every other Czech did too. You just hang them on the outside of your house and let the magic work.

CZ: Pamatujete si z mladi tyto domecky? Moje babicka je mela a snad i kdekdo jiny. Vzdycky visely venku u dveri, aby nam oznamily, zda-li bude prset anebo naopak slunecno. Nechapu jak to v takovem jednoduchem domecku po mechanicke strance funguje (asi je to proste kouzlo ;), ale predpoved byla vzdycky pravdiva: panenka je venku – bude hezky. Panacek je venku – bude prset. Krasne a jednoduche.
Ted si tyto krasne domecky muzete objednat i vy (ja jsem si objednala hned dva, jelikoz postovne je stejne) od firmy “Domecky na pocasi”. Pan Oplustil je prodava za $8.50 za kus a postovne je $9.00 (1 -2 domecky v jednom baliku).

Yes I remember them from when I was a kid. I pterry much think they work on the pricipal tthat a barometer uses to move with changes in air pressure.
