So July schedule of Czech and Slovak events doesn’t look so hot (unless you like polka!! We have got couple of polka dances going on). I guess everyone is still vacationing somewhere….Also, the National Czech and Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids – my important source of info – got flooded last month so they will be out of the business for a while as far as Czech events go :((

I am sorry Sue!! I know, it makes me mad. There are so many Czechs living in Atlanta but I cannot find any “accomplice” (website/person) who could tell me about any Czech activities that are going on there…I will keep trying…Let me know if you hear about anything!

Hi, we have always something going on every month in Dallas/Fort Worth area. You can check http://czech.meetup.com/155/.
We are meeting for 4th of July fireworks and then for a poker night. Nothing planned for August, but I usually plan it about two to three weeks ahead so I am sure there will be something. Probably tubing on a river, definitely some dinner (my parents are coming, also Czechs so I wanted them to meet the group).
Also if you ever travel to DFW, let me know (you can ping me through meetup) and I can pull something quickly together!
A good place for local Czech or Slovak events is Meetup. We have a group in the Dallas/Forth Worth area that has been quite active. Look it up at http://czech.meetup.com/155/
