They did it! / Povedlo se jim to!

The Czech singer and a pianist Marketa Irglova and her 17-year older Irish boyfriend, Glen Hansard, won the Oscar for the “Best movie song 2007”. Charming Marketa even got a chance – although cut off by the orchestra at first – to make a little speech in front of the zillion of celebrities (I bet she was sweating..). She thanked everyone and then proceeded to say that the prize was important not only for the two of them but also for the whole independent artist community. It gives other independent musicians and artists the courage to go after their dreams because “mirracles” can happen. Indeed, the story is quite an inspiration. The movie took them 2 weeks to make, the cost was no more than $150,000 and there was no need to hire any actors since Marketa and Glen were the main stars. Not to forget, the script didn’t even need to be written since the whole thing was a true story!

The magical evening for the couple was topped with the congratulating text message that Glen received from Bono himself (U2).

Hezky “nacancana” (mineno v dobrem) dokonce i mela malinky proslov (pravda, poprve ji orchestr prerusil po prvnim slove), kde nejen ze vsem podekovala, ale take se publiku sverila, ze tato cena je inspirace pro dalsi nezavisle hudebniky a umelce po celem svete a dukaz, ze sny se mohou stat realitou. To, ze jejich osud je jakousi pohadkou neni pochyb: fim je stal necelych $150,000, natocili ho za 2 tydny a ani nemuseli hledat herce, protoze si tam hlavni roli zahrali sami! A jelikoz obsah celeho filmu je pravda od zacatku do konce, nemuseli si ani najimat scenaristu…

Vysneny vecer pro tento cesko-irsky parecek se stal vyslovene “Sedmym nebem”, kdyz Glen obdrezel textovou zpravu s gratulaci od samotneho Bona z U2…
