Vaclav Havel’s new play’s drama / Havlovo drama s jeho novou divadelni hrou

A former president and a writer Vaclav Havel wrote a new play! It is called “Odchazeni” (Leaving) and it is going to be premiered at the Prague National Theater early next season. There is a little problem, however: Havel wants his wife, former actress Dagmar Havel, to be casted into one of the leading roles. The National Theater crew does not like that idea at all. Why? The speaker of the theater explains: ” The play was offered to the National Theater which means that it was also offered to the National Theater acting crew. That is why it is naturally understood that the play should be casted by the actors from the National Theater crew, not by some hosting actors (i.e. Dagmar Havel)”. During her interview with the newspaper Pravo Dagmar claimed that the director himself asked for her to be in the play. How will it turn out? Is she going to get her way a and get casted in the play or is Havel going to endure the most torturous moments with the quarrelling wife under his roof??

Havel started to work on his Odchazeni during his 3-month stay in the United States. He also wrote it for his wife Dagmar; so doesn’t she deserve to be in the play after all???

CZ: Byvaly president Vaclav Havel napsal novou hru! Jmenuje se Odchazeni a jeji premiera je naplanovana k uvedeni v Narodnim Divaldle jiz pristi sezonu. Je tu ale mensi hacek. Havel se snazi obsadit do jedne z hlavni roli jeho manzelku, Dagmar Havlovou (Dagmar Veskrnovou), ovsem Narodnimu divadlu se to vubec nelibi. Mluvci divadla pan Stanek rika: “Hra byla nabídnuta Národnímu divadlu, což znamená nejen budove divadla, ale i souboru. Pocitá se proto s tím, že by v inscenaci meli hrát predevším clenové souboru Národního divadla, nikoli hosté (viz. Dagmar Havlova)”. Dagmar vcera pro denik Pravo uvedla, ze si ji reziser Radok pro jednu z roli sam vyzadal. No, vypada to, ze si na verdikt musime chvilku pockat….

Havel zacal pracovat na jeho nove hre v dobe kdy pobyval nekolik mesicu v USA. Take ji pry napsal pro svou zenu Dagmar. Tak nevim, jestli si nezaslouzi v te hre take vystupovat…
