Czech airport insanely overpriced? / Je ruzynske letiste silene predrazene?

This is a recent receipt from one of the Czech restaurants at the Prague airport. The person had 2 Czech beers, 2 pretzels, and 2 goulash soups. The total was 618 Czech crowns or  $38.63.

Does that seem overpriced to you or would you say it’s an appropriate charge?

Prijde vam to predrazene?

If you liked this post buy me a coffee! (Suggested:$3 a latte $8 for a pound) Thanks!

That is ridiculous. My last visit in April, I saw a 1 liter bottle of water for 160Kc. – nearly $8. 🙁

    :((
Someone commented on Facebook that the prices are actually comparable but the problem is the exchange rate at the airports that turns up the prices quite a bit.

It is no worse than US airports. If you go outside the airport, you would see a big savings.

    Ahoj Tanja!

I’m Australian but my mums side of the family is from the Czech Republic so my heart always has a piece of the country in me! I went to the Czech Republic last year in July and I must say I miss it so much! Your website helps me miss it less and help me even learn a bit more Czech with your translations. Don’t ever stop posting because your website rocks 🙂 Can I suggest for you to put up a couple of Czech language learing posts, just a few phrases that you seem are important? Oh and about the post, last year went I went to the country, the airport prices I though were a bit expensive as well!

Totally understandable. Czech beer is priceless ;))
    It’s like American Express!

Cena odpovida cenam na ostatnich letistich. Vsak McDonalds prodava zakladni burger vsude za stejnou cenu $1 – cca 20Kc? Tady v USA mi prijde nijak hrozne, zatimco v CR mi 20Kc prijde hodne.

There are several tourist restaurants in the airport that charge ludicrous prices, but there is one airport restaurant, which has reasonable prices. It’s up the escalator past the executive lounges.
