Hlavni Nadrazi is getting a facelift / Hlavni Nadrazi se zkrasluje

Prague’s main train station Hlavni Nadrazi is finally getting beautified! It used to be such an embarrassment to the whole downtown that nobody wanted to even walk by it unless you really had to. It would stink like urine and puke and it was a favorite hang out spot of all of the homeless people. But now it looks totally different and beautiful! CZ: Hlavni nadrazi se konecne zkrasluje!!! Diky novemu italskemu sponzoru ted prochazi obrovskou rekonstrukci. Pamatujete, jak to tam vzycky smrdelo jako moc a zvratky? A jaky to bylo oblibene odpocivadlo pro vsechny bezdomovce pomalu z cele Evropy? Tak ted je tomu utrum! Vice si precte a prohlidnete na My Czech Republic blog (kliknete zde).
Aw, come on. How would anybody know it’s a railway station without at least a little bit of a urine and puke smell?
No hlavne aby se zbavili tech kempujicich Cikanu. Stalo se mi ze se na me uvnitr nadrazi navesily cikanske deti, tahaly me za rukavy a cipy obleceni s tim ze chteji penize. Copak jsme nejaka zeme tretiho sveta? Co si o nas pomysli navstevujici cizinci co se s nicim takovym jeste nesetkali?
Now if only they’d tear down (or bury) that freeway that cuts the station off from all life in the city….
To Tom: OK, just a LITTLE BIT of urine/puke smell here and there for the original ‘train station atmosphere’ but not like it was on Hlavni Nadrazi! Seriously, you had to wear a gas mask to get through that part of town.

MiGrant: Oh, that freeway….the constat sore eye (or is it and eye-sore??) of the city….But hey, at least the fumes kind of mask the smell of the urine and puke!

Hl.nad neni tak hrozne posledni dobou – jen v noci a predevsim v lete.Ale policie to tam krazi co pul hodinu. Nove podchody jsou moc pekne ( i sklenene haly uvnitr)

Jo a taky dali utrum tem stankum s hot dogama a pod – tim vystrnadili ty bezdace, co tam stavali u stanku s jednim pivkem cely den a smrdeli
I used to commute to Mat-Fyz through there. It definitely seemed like a relic! I love that there’s a bookstore (with cafe) there now.
Hopefully they provide gas masks free of charge just in case…
Interesting that the ‘gas mask’ post followed the urine/puke smelling train station post. There is order in the universe!
