I am using this ( http://gizmosms.com/ ) to send free text messages to my lovers in Argentina 😉 If you have iPhone, Blackberry Storm or other web enabled phones, you can send these messages directly from your phone….

To Vlastimil: but the Czech people still pay for that incoming text message if they don’t have a web enabled phone, right?

BTW, I have AT&T and I also pay $ 0.20 for outgoing and incoming text messages fr. CZ.

Jana, couple of years ago people in Czech did not pay anything for incoming messages. It may have changed . Simply send them a message asking them how much your pleasure has cost them 🙂
If you know which cell phone company your friends in Czech Republic are connected to, it is almost guaranteed to be free for you and for them to go to the website of the Czech operator company and send a SMS from there…

    I hate paying for things….
Hey, there is also a free version of Tivo 😉

BTW, $0.20 per a message is a rip-off. it DOES NOT COST the phone company anything extra to send your SMS anywhere in the world. Their running expenses are the same regardless you are sending SMS or not.
I will suggest pres. Obama to nationalize cell phone companies as well… 😉 😉

and calls to Czechs are also cheap…..$0.02 per minutes… I pay $30.00 per months and have free unlimited calls anywhere to Western Europe.
Amazingly to Czech Rep. I have to pay $0.02/min but it is good as well. to call to a cellphone costs me $0.15/ minute which I don’t like… I am sure there are “workarounds” as well… Long live Free World ! 🙂
