And in Prague 1? Lots of restaurants are tourist traps! Most of the time, I just follow where the construction workers go to eat, at a cafeteria, where you could get something for 25-40 Kc. My favorite was drstkova polevka!I always go to the lunch stand that serves drstkova polevka, koleno, a brambory salat, that's underground in the Muzeum metro, U Rudolfa II (Prague 3, Korunni 67), if I wanted to show visiting friends an old fashioned Czech restaurant/pub; Staropramen (has their own restaurant! hehe) on Lidická 406/41, Prague 5 that's more fancy traditional Czech food, but at still, very reasonable prices.Of course, the best is when a Czech friend invites you over for vanonce, and the babicka makes dinner for you. ;DYou can find alot of great restaurants away from Stare Mesto. I don't know why Pavel Maurer had to choose those 10.

Pavel Maurer; I’m sure he’s an excellent cook (and a celebrity in Czech Republic!) and is probably aiming at a certain crowd for his picks, but even as a middle-class American, knowing most of the places are in Prague 1 or are Western hotel restaurants, the restaurants he has chosen are expensive.
